BTN PonPou Review

After we found out that NB-01 liked BTN, we found someone in Borakimu who will import stuff for us. Thank you, Dottie... we thank you for importing all kinds of Borac Telenetwork stuff, plus the foods that appear in the commercial breaks. We have a full on ban on that "dogs get hotter!" cereal, it's a bad product.

And thus, we got a BTN PonPou. This is a PonPouTap! in white with a custom paint job (multicolor stripes and the BTN logo) that only has PicoBTN, alongside games, songs and programmes from BTN loaded onto it. When there is a new game, programme, or song, the device updates with a cellular connection. PicoBTN updates, too... Yes they made a PonOS port of this PicoFone/Pikon app. For any real worlders seeing this, phone plans are essentially free here, and these cellular-embedded devices don't have a SIM, which means these are equivalent to older styled CDMA. You cannot put your own stuff on this device or access NettoKubi/ToKouKubi , and that's a good thing considering that there's messed up things that we don't want our brainswaps seeing (Who's seen the shock pages with Passo? Quite a few blobs, actually...)

As part of the rules, we can't really let our brain-swaps into the outside world, especially Biiko. There was one exception for Bii who went to the BTN restaurant on her birthday, but besides that, she really likes BTN, and this is her only PonPou.

The only electronic devices we give our brainswapped blobs are a merubox, a monochrome Chatlet, and a MiMeraPou (NB-01 is an exception and has a PromoPou based on her favorite MB network.)

So, is it worth keeping Bii sane? Yep. We watch too much Bommy and Me! with her.... she even sings the theme song in her sleep... it's cute...

BTN Epi-carts

So, Borac Telenetwork, back in early Nov this year, made some Epi-carts for the Chiikit market after finding out the channel is a success in mainland and city Chikakimu. Keep in mind that they did have Chiikit feeds from 2016 to 2020.... about three of them. Nobody subscribed, and if they were, there were little to no subscribers.

But now? People were purchasing Borac MB packages (Paid channels and packages are pass-through dongles to add to KGParabola and MeruUzune... JUST to watch BTN. These things unscramble paid networks.) After all, blobs couldn't get enough of their "useless" shows... right?

They came out with Epi-carts. And these carts are special. BTN shows are super short, about 1-2 minutes in length. They chose 15 minutes as the perfect amount of time. You get a decent amount of episodes.

So, what's the point of talking about them? I'll explain the basis of the SlopZap cart today.

The cartridge has these, in order:

• BTN home video logo, which fades slowly into the Happy BTN Day promo. Originally this song was a 10 second sign-on bumper. BTN extended it and added clips of their programming to the longer 30 sec version. Theres a 2 min version on the BTN PonPou as well.
• CPB intro, not affiliated with the real-world company of the same name that's shutting down in 2026.
• The programme itself. A little fun fact for everyone here: BTN has created custom cutscenes for this Epi-cart in between episodes of SlopZap. Right after the programme is its credits. 
• Shorter CPB logo.
• BTN Day Today! song (again!!!!)
• Digit, Lil, and Samuel in 3D saying goodbye. 
• Then it fades to black. After a few seconds, the Epi-cart player, depending on the model or the player's settings, will either re-start the cart to the beginning or say "End of cart, press play" in ENG, JPN, WUB, and KUZ. Most Epi players only have the ability to support 4 languages and has a 4 way switch to change the languages. Some rare Epi-cart players that support the more obscure Epi-jekuta carts will have a button to change the language. But this is rare. Because, who even uses the Epi-jekuta anyway besides my mother doing her anticeleb classes?

A surprising fact is that this is one of the rare types of Epi-cart: the 16:9 Epi-cart. All the useless BTN programmes are 16:9, and on the merubox, the channel is letterboxed. This cartridge is a native 16:9 cartridge like every BTN cart, but every Epi-cart player, even the hand-held ones, will letterbox the cartridge's video content for a 4:3 screen.

And although Borac Telenetwork's programming is made by and for LMIs in mind, the blobs find it entertaining, too! The storms really made us appreciate BTN as if it was the only thing we could watch. After all, the other Epi-cart box sets we played over and over lost their luster as we watched em over and over... and I didn't ever feel like popping in THAT show Passo worked on... the speaker one....

It's been storming a lot...

The void just seems... dark... Usually most of the time, it's very colorful and bright! But these days? It's a LOT of rain. Lots of thunder. VERY STRONG WINDS. It got so bad that it was advised to stay in the basements. Me, Phoebe, Passo, Niya and Zetto were there alongside Passo's own bloblets. And I think the rest of the yanloids were there too (Haiko, Nebula and Beso.) We had a small epi-cart player (the hand-held type), a MB that barely worked, as in staticy PTC and the city MB service. Yes, and Niya's Pikon. We huddled around that and the portable Epi-cart player. Everything was closed.

Oh, and Zetto? He was glad to see Phoebe again. For you real worlders seeing this, Zetto is actually Phoebe's dedusa! Not many people know but I'll point it out!!! :) 

We only had a small selection of Epis to watch. I grabbed a random selection (box sets ONLY) from the shelf before we all went down. Just a bit of homestar, old Scaleech Show (pre-zipzap by the way!!), and THAT terrible show that Passo did on the MB for a good number of years. Didn't even grab it on purpose... I grabbed as many Epi box sets as I could hold... Wanna know the worst part. Passo's not really a fan of the homestars. She had the mic plugged into her, and she was stuck hearing what she called "irritating voices". I kind of get why, especially if it's a mother having to listen to these all day. After all, that Home Star programme in question is used to teach english to baby bloblings (more specifically, various dialects.)

I myself got bored and was just reading through the Passo speaker show's box set which included a small book. I was repeatedly quietly saying "what the HEEeelllllllll? What the fuuuuuuuuuckkkkkkkk?" to myself. I knew about this already because YEAH! Im a passerine and I listen to her dumb song ironically! And then one time me and my ex were watching it like "what the helllllll?" and i don't remember it well but we regretted it!! Luckily we didnt play those epis. Cuz theyre genuinely really really really messed up. But once Home Star and Old Shaliki lose its luster, and it's still storming, we'll be doomed. Hey, we DO have Niya's Pikon phone. So we could just, y'know, huddle around a small cell phone screen just to watch Tanji and Sam, or Slop Zap, or uhhhhhhhh.... Do people really watch BTN StoryTime???

Yes I have a Pikon, but it's dangerous to not be in a basement during the storm.... 

And finally, we brought all our instruments down. And we played a couple of tunes here and there. It was wild. Just imagine the yanloids mixed with Telemarketers and Passo and the K-Tones.... Passo was already prepared... her favorite basses and cellos were brought down (which were ALL OF THEM by the way. She loves em all!!!!)

Also she was playing some really cool bass lines!

Ok i gotta go now i need to sleep. But im stuck listening to some random real worlder talking about Wiyu or whatever it is.... Apparently from glancing at the screen i think its some sorta set top box with a tablet. But cuz of that show, I cant sleep..... thanks Niya. How does he sleep through the screams...

A happy BTN day todaaaaayyyyy... la la lalala, lalalalalaaaaaaaaaaa (it's stuck in the entire lab's heads now)

We have this little toy MB we got in Borakimu for NB01. Press a button and the fake screen moves as many famous BTN characters pass by. Stuff like Tanji, Bluubo, Lula, Digit, Lil and Samuel. Lack of Sam makes me mad because most of the lab are huge Tanji and Sam fans here. NB01 loves it. We hate it. To make it worse, BTN plays their "Happy BTN Day!" song in between commercials once-in-a-while. It used to be once a day at 6:00... Come on, BTN... I just want my sanity back. Hey at least we do have this plush of Bommy that plays a 8000hz bitcrushed rendition of the Bommy and Me theme song. However that toy is NB02's and he likes playing with it.

To be honest here, I think someone should visit the lab and make the BTN toy mb go missing. Either that or have that Beso guy from the Yanloids try to mod it so it's quieter. I would like the latter, please.

Hey, we'll become early Chikanetto adopters just to document NB01's life!

First, NB01 is doing well. Second of all, we're stuck watching BTN all day in her part of the lab. One of the researchers can't stop singing the "Let the Sink In!" song.

Although we don't really let NB01 out into the outside world, she went to the BTN restaurant in Borakimu on her body birthday. With NewBrain brain-swapped blobs, there are two birthdays - one is their body's birthday (AKA the previous blob's birthday) and the day the swapped brain was put into the blob, usually a day after the blob's "death". Thankfully, Bebo Akapane and his work is NOT even known in Borakimu, so our biggest fear of others blurting out "BEBO! BEBO YANLOID HI! BEBO! BEBO AKAPANE BEBOBEBOBEBO!!!!!!" to her were non-existent. 

To get to the restaurant we had to specifically go through the tunnel at times people aren't riding them. Again, we do not want people blurting out Bebo's name to a blob who lives in his body.

At the place we got "Pinkon's Pizza" and "Samuel's Savory Pie of Disappointment". The food was good but what really made us bring her was that they'd have holograms of all the BTN characters to perform for you at the table. Of course, Tanji sang a lot of great songs. Then we also got the BTN Halloween Band to perform for us. What a great band.... But to be fair, Tanji is top tier.

Because, after all, who would have the guts to sing about eating algae from a sink... Tanji would.

Tambi was a HUGE failure so we're shifting gears to a new client. One site and all the blobs you could ever need!
